# SharePoint and OneDrive

Add Excel and other files from SharePoint or OneDrive to Felt with a share link. Set up live layers and troubleshoot links Felt can't read.

Add a SharePoint or OneDrive file with its share link, then refresh the layer when the file changes. Excel files work best, but Felt accepts any [supported file type](/upload-anything/files/supported-file-types.md). Felt reads company SharePoint and OneDrive for work links (`yourcompany.sharepoint.com`, `yourcompany-my.sharepoint.com`) and personal OneDrive links (`1drv.ms`, `onedrive.live.com`).

## Add a SharePoint or OneDrive file to a map

Felt reads only files that anyone with the link can open. Links limited to people in your organization need a Microsoft login, so Felt can't read them. If you don't see the **Anyone with the link** option, your Microsoft 365 admin may have turned it off.

1. In SharePoint or OneDrive, select the file you want to add and click **Share**.
2. Select **Anyone with the link** as the audience, then click **Copy link**.
3. In the Felt toolbar, click **Upload Anything** ![](https://217108486-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FmRfGitkyjOEMvVsEyGWN%2Fuploads%2FnwKMjNT6E1km4CtnHkqf%2F24.svg?alt=media\&token=9e98d9c4-35a3-416a-8802-b4e366c722cb) > **From URL**, and paste the link.
4. Optional: Turn on **Live** to pick up changes to the file on a schedule. See [Refresh data](/upload-anything/refresh-data.md).
5. Click **Add to map**. The layer appears in the legend with the file's name.

## Troubleshooting SharePoint and OneDrive links

SharePoint and OneDrive link errors appear in the **Upload Anything from URL** dialog when Felt checks the link.

| *SharePoint file is private* or *OneDrive file is private* | The link needs a Microsoft login. Change the file's sharing to **Anyone with the link**, copy the new link, and add it again. |
| *SharePoint folder links aren't supported* or *OneDrive folder links aren't supported* | The link points to a folder or a document library view instead of a file. Open the folder, select the file you want to add, and copy that file's link. |

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://help.felt.com/upload-anything/urls/sharepoint-and-onedrive.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
