# Billing

## Billing plans

Felt offers straightforward pricing that scales with your organization. See our most current plans on the [pricing page](https://felt.com/pricing).

Felt has two paid plans: **Professional** and **Enterprise**.

* **Professional** — for teams. Includes 10 full seats, unlimited viewers, 25 GB of data processing per month, and 100,000 map views per month. Additional full seats are $50/user/month.
* **Enterprise** — custom pricing. Adds live cloud sources (Postgres, Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks, S3), AI features and MCP, the REST API and JavaScript SDK, SSO/SAML, regional hosting, VPC deployment, and dedicated support.

When you sign up for Felt, you're automatically enrolled in a free 7-day trial of the Professional plan. AI is optional during the trial.

## Managing the trial

When you sign up for Felt you enroll in a 7-day free trial of the Professional plan. No credit card is required to sign up or start the trial.

During your trial, you have full access to Professional features, including [Upload Anything](/upload-anything/files.md), [dashboards](/dashboards-and-apps/components.md), the [Field App](/field-app/getting-started.md), and the [QGIS plugin](/upload-anything/qgis-plugin.md). AI features are optional during the trial — let us know if you want to try them.

After 7 days, your account automatically downgrades to the Personal plan.

<details>

<summary>What happens after my trial ends?</summary>

After 7 days, your account automatically downgrades to the Personal plan. If your maps are using paid features — uploaded data, Felt Layers, or other Professional/Enterprise capabilities — those layers will be watermarked with grey tiles. Your maps and data are preserved, but the Personal plan doesn't allow new data uploads or commercial use.

## Frequently asked questions

<details>

<summary>How does billing work?</summary>

Felt operates on a subscription basis and each Felt Workspace is billed independently.

There are three plans: Personal, Professional, and Enterprise. Felt is sold as an annual contract; we don't offer month-to-month billing for Professional or Enterprise. You can find details about the different plans [here](https://felt.com/pricing).

</details>

<details>

<summary>How do I manage payment for Felt? Who can access these settings?</summary>

You can pay for Felt in the [billing section](https://felt.com/maps/latest/billing) of the App. You need to be an admin to subscribe to Felt.

Admins of the Workspace are the only teammates who can control billing and data usage in the Workspace.

</details>

<details>

<summary>How do I delete my account?</summary>

If you wish to delete your account, please contact <support@felt.com> and our team will assist you.

</details>

<details>

<summary>Can I upload data on the Personal plan? Can I use Felt Layers on the Personal plan?</summary>

No, uploading data and using Felt Layers are not available on the Personal plan. This includes layers created from converting Felt annotations (formerly called "elements") and layers from hand-drawn annotations. To upload your own data, upgrade to Professional or Enterprise.

</details>

<details>

<summary>How do I view my workspace's data usage? Can I purchase more?</summary>

View your current data processing and map view usage by navigating to [Workspace settings → Usage](https://felt.com/maps/latest/usage).

Professional includes 25 GB of data processing and 100,000 map views per month. Enterprise scales to your organization. If you're approaching or exceeding your allotment, drop a note to our [sales team](https://felt.com/sales) — we don't auto-bill overages or throttle your maps.

</details>

<details>

<summary>How do I add more seats to my subscription?</summary>

Professional includes 10 full seats. Additional full seats are $50/user/month. You can add seats directly in your [billing settings](https://felt.com/maps/latest/billing). For larger teams or custom seat agreements, [reach out](https://felt.com/sales) to our sales team about Enterprise.

For details on what a full seat is and how it differs from a viewer, see [Licenses](/administration/licenses.md).

</details>

<details>

<summary>How is data processing measured?</summary>

Data limits are applied at the organizational level.

Data processing is a monthly measure of data usage. It's calculated based on the size of the file times the number of "runs" — a "run" counts any time a file is uploaded to a map, refreshed, or transformed. Data processing resets on the first of every calendar month.

Map views are counted per calendar month and reset on the first of every month.

View your current workspace usage by navigating to [Workspace settings > Usage](https://felt.com/maps/latest/usage).

</details>

<details>

<summary>How does Felt calculate the size of a layer?</summary>

Felt uses the size of the uncompressed geodata being processed or uploaded to the platform.

</details>

<details>

<summary>How does Felt calculate data processing &#x26; hosting from URL sources like WMTS, Feature Servers, XYZ files?</summary>

Felt has logic to handle your sources like WMTS, Feature Servers and XYZ files. If they are pre-tiled, we point to the tile sources. However, if the source is not pre-tiled, we will process those tiles through a pipeline run and host them on your behalf.

</details>

<details>

<summary>When does my data processing total reset?</summary>

Data processing totals reset on a calendar month cycle. For example, if you've hit your limit on September 15, your limit will reset on October 1.

</details>

<details>

<summary>What happens if I exceed my map views or processing?</summary>

Nothing dramatic. We'll reach out to talk about whether the next tier makes sense for your use. We don't auto-bill overages or throttle your maps — predictability is the point.

</details>

<details>

<summary>What is a member?</summary>

A member is anyone invited to your workspace. Every member has a license — either a **Full seat** or a **Viewer** — and a permission role on each project, map, or data source.

* **Full seat** — required to create or edit maps, upload data, contribute changes, or post comments. Counts toward your seat allotment.
* **Viewer** — unlimited. Can view maps they're shared with and read comments, but cannot post comments or edit.

For details, see [Licenses](/administration/licenses.md) and [Permissions](/administration/felt-permissions.md).

</details>

<details>

<summary>Is there an educational license?</summary>

Yes! Felt is free to use in the classroom.

To verify your classroom check out [For classrooms](/administration/for-classrooms.md).

</details>

<details>

<summary>Do you offer a non-profit discount?</summary>

Yes. Verified U.S. 501(c)(3) nonprofits get 30% off Professional or Enterprise. [Get verified](/administration/for-nonprofits.md) to access this offer.

</details>

<details>

<summary>What happens if I cancel my subscription?</summary>

You will lose access to the paid features in Felt at the end of the billing period and not be charged going forward. Your data remains safe and accessible: you can export your maps and data before your subscription ends to take your work with you.

Once the subscription is inactive your maps will be watermarked with grey tiles covering the data.

</details>

<details>

<summary>If I cancel Felt, can I take my data with me?</summary>

Yes. All your data is exportable to standard formats — Shapefile, GeoJSON, GeoPackage, GeoTIFF, CSV — at any time, on any plan. Live cloud-source data (Postgres, Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks, S3) never moves out of your warehouse in the first place; Felt only reads it. There's no proprietary export-only format.

</details>

<details>

<summary>Do layers created using Felt's transformations count towards usage?</summary>

Yes, layers created with Felt's transformation tool are listed in the usage tab and count towards your Workspace's data processing usage.

</details>

<details>

<summary>How many addresses can I upload to Felt from a spreadsheet?</summary>

By default, Felt will geocode address data for up to 10,000 addresses per upload. If you need a higher limit, [contact sales](https://felt.com/sales) to upgrade to our [Enterprise plan](https://felt.com/pricing).
